KPIT Technologies Global Software Development Centre in Kochi
KPIT Technologies who creates smart vehicle software for global automotive manufactures like BMW has opened new Global Software Development Centre in Kochi. Car manufacturers such as Renault, Nissan, Peugeot, Fiat, Chrysler, General Motors, Honda, Packard and Navistar are some of the customers of KPIT. With centers in Michigan, Munich, Shanghai, Tokyo, Belo Horizonte we have a strength of 12000 globally. Sachin Tikekar, Joint Managing Director of the Pune based company told Manorama.
Strengths of Kerala
We are an embedded software company that finds solutions to complex mobility problems. Two years ago, we took over a company called Pathpartner Technologies in Kochi. The talent pool here is very good. There are currently 125 people in the center. Soon we will grow to 1000 software professionals. There is also a plan to add fresh talents with the support of colleges like CUSAT, Rajagiri Business School.
Software Defined Vehicles
We are helping car and truck manufactures to rise from that level to become mobility companies. Earlier, the vehicles were 100% mechanical. Then came more electronics and software through it became electro-mechanical. With the advent of electric car maker tesla, traditional carmakers needed major software changes to keep up with that boom. We provide completely specialized services for different car manufacturers. We are also involved in the 6 software defined vehicle project announced by 8 automakers
