Our story starts all the way back in the mid-1950s when late Shri B R Pandit founded Kirtane and Pandit Chartered Accountants. Starting initially as Kirtane and Pandit Information Technology, a division of Kirtane and Pandit, the company later became K&P Information Technology Pvt Ltd which finally morphed into KPIT Infosystems Limited. The partners of Kirtane and Pandit, Mr. Ravi Pandit who became a partner in 1976 and Mr. Kishor Patil, a Chartered Account and Cost accountant, who became a partner in early 1983, cofounded KPIT and continue to the lead the vision and global impact KPIT is bringing about. In 1987, Mr. Shirish Patwardhan, BTech and MTech from IIT Mumbai joined KPIT.

Between the late 1980s and early 1990s, Pune was emerging as a hotbed for early startups and technology companies. It was during this time that KPIT was incorporated to seize the opportunities at hand and jump into the technology sector head-first.

KPIT Infosystems IPO is launched. Gets oversubscribed 50 times. Listed on India stock exchanges

2002

KPIT Cummins is born KPIT Infosystems and Cummins join hands to create a software organization focusing on embedded software and digital transformation focused on automotive, manufacturing sectors.

2006
2006

A remarkable year for us all, in 2006, we became a premium partner to AUTOSAR and JasPar, SPICE level 5 Certification, ISO 27001. Later, CG Smith India joined KPIT Cummins Inforsystems family to boost Embedded Systems for Auto Electronics.

2008 – 2010
2008 – 2010

Between 2008 and 2010, we continued to grow our partnerships and acquisitions. In 2008, Engineering Design business of TVS joins KPIT Cummins Infosystems family. In 2010, we became a Product Partner of the MathWorks Connections Program. Further in the same year, we formed a joined venture with Bharat Forge to unveil hybrid technology solution for automobiles and also acquired In2Soft GmbH Vehicle Diagnostics.

A memorable year to all KPITians, this year we were honoured with the Wall Street Journal Innovation Award in ‘Transport Category’. But it didn’t stop here. KPIT Cummins Inforsystems also won NASSCOM’s ‘Promising Innovation of the Year’ Award for REVOLO.

2012-2014
2012-2014

Two years filled with new partnerships and investments. In 2012 we invested in GENIVI Compliant In- vehicle infotainment platform and achieved the GENIVI Compliance. In 2013, we witnessed some of the most significant milestones of our growth journey. We started the year with Ikv++ Technologies ag becoming a part of the KPIT KPIT Cummins Infosystems family to boost Functional Safety expertise. A few months later, we rebranded ourselves as KPIT Technologies Ltd. But do you know what was another memorable milestones of the cutting-edge work we did during this time? In 2013, we also announced the world’s 1st AUTOSAR 4.0.3 compatible solution. In the same year, Livio becomes part of the KPIT family. Later in 2014 we also strengthened our Livio Partnership by bringing SmartDeviceLink to more cars. We also invested in I-Cubed PLM Solutions in 2014.

As a growing company, we wanted to expand our footprint in Europe. Thus in 2016, MicroFuzzy joined KPIT family for expansion in Germany with focus on e-powertrain.

2018
2018

One of the key years in our history, in 2018, we announced the coming together of KPIT and Birlasoft, to create a USD 700+ million combined entity that later demerged into two separate companies, focused on ‘Automotive Engineering and Mobility Solutions’ (the new KPIT Technologies) and ‘Digital Business IT Services’ (Birlasoft) respectively. The new KPIT Technologies would become a USD 200+ million focused Engineering Services company that was created by tapping into the current Engineering business of KPIT to create a global leader in Automotive Engineering and Mobility Solutions.

2019

In 2019, we became a member of CharIN E.V. to contribute to the efforts in standardizing and adopting CCS as a global standard. One of the most significant milestones we hit this year was our company becoming a publicly listed company. On 22 April 2019, KPIT announced listing of its new stock on NSE and BSE. This was followed by KPIT’s merger and demerger transaction with Birlasoft. KPIT got listed with the opening bell ringing ceremony at NSE, presided over by Mr. Ravi Pandit, Chairman, KPIT and Mr. Kishor Patil, CEO & MD, KPIT and executive leadership from KPIT.

2020
2020

A year that changed the world around us. The advent of the pandemic impacted business across the globe. Yet, KPIT continued to expand its business and presence. In July 2020, we announced setting up of a European Software Engineering Center in Munich, Germany.

2021
2021

In 2021, FMS became part of the KPIT family for the development of embedded software solutions. In the same year, PathParther too became part of the KPIT family to strengthen our software integration capabilities.

2022
2022

We continued to grow our partnership in 2022. This happened with SOMIT Solutions and Technica Engg joining the KPIT family to strengthen KPIT’s Guided Diagnostics platform and accelerate transformation towards Software Defined Vehicles respectively.
