socially responsible business organization, we continue to push the bar higher through technology and innovation driven CSR activities. We believe it is our moral responsibility to give back to the community, which in so many ways has contributed to our success and helped our business grow.
Community Contribution is one of the seven core values at KPIT. It has a significant mention in our mission and vision to reflect our commitment towards it.
We have always been involved in community contribution initiatives in some way or the other and have developed the structure for our CSR initiatives over a period of time. Since our inception, we worked on several fronts and many societal initiatives. Considering our capabilities and the needs of the communities that we serve, we reassessed the focus of our CSR initiatives. Based on the results, we finalized the following focus areas in order to deliver maximum benefit to society:Environment
Community Initiative should not be restricted to only contribution of funds. It must necessarily involve the energies and efforts of the people.
Community Initiatives should be rendered in areas where the company's core strengths are, so that we can contribute more than just our time and money. Therefore, we use our expertise and knowledge in the IT domain, to educate and enable communities.
The efforts should be concentrated on a few initiatives to ensure significant results and maximum impact.
Initiatives are not limited to any cultural, regional or physical boundaries. We ensure a wider reach of each initiative to benefit the society at large. We believe that community initiatives are essential not just in a developing country like India but also required in an affluent and developed country like US. So wherever we are, in all the centers that we are present, we will be engaged in contributing towards the community. For example we initiated the "Not for Profit (NP) Connect" Program in Bartholomew County in Indiana, US. The program envisioned to improve the quality of life and enhance economic development by increasing access to technology. To achieve this goal, the organization introduced programs and developed software and websites for Nonprofits in US. We also helped some of the schools in upgrading hardware infrastructure.
All practices and initiatives should be Metrics-driven, for greater transparency and to ensure measurable results. We measure the number of beneficiaries and the number of employees involved in each initiative. For example, in the year 2013-14, we had 13724 beneficiaries as against 8809 employees participating in the community initiatives. This in the year 2012-13 was 6200 and 5750 respectively.
We always aim for maximum results of the efforts involved (1.5 times our employee strength) to reach and benefit maximum number of beneficiaries.
We firmly believe in the principle of collaboration. We understand that in the arena of social service, there are other entities with greater depth of knowledge. In order to give the best to the society, we collaborate with such entities. For example Janwani, GE Motors etc.
As a company, we run our business in a way to create and retain a sustainable world. We also enable our clients to run their operations efficiently and create products that are environment friendly.
